AAA Donates $20,000 to AAA-ICDR Foundation in Memory of Dr. Patricia Galloway

The AAA-ICDR mourns the loss of Dr. Patricia Galloway, who passed away on September 26, 2024. Dr. Galloway had a distinguished career and was a highly respected past member of the AAA-ICDR Board of Directors. She also served as past chair of the AAA's National Construction Dispute Resolution Committee (NCDRC) and was an arbitrator and mediator for both the AAA and ICDR.
Dr. Galloway co-founded Pegasus-Global Holdings and had extensive experience in large-scale projects, including the Panama Canal Expansion and London’s Crossrail Project, among many others. Her leadership in civil engineering, construction, and dispute resolution was widely recognized, and she was known for her groundbreaking work as the first non-lawyer elected as a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators.
In addition to her extensive achievements in engineering, arbitration, and project management, Dr. Galloway was a trailblazer for women in civil engineering and risk management. She was the first woman to lead the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), serving as president from 2003 to 2004, where she broke barriers for women in the profession.
Her impact extended to academia, corporate governance, and international speaking engagements, where she shared her expertise. At the time of her passing, she was serving on various boards, including Pegasus-Global Holdings, Stantec and Granite Construction. Dr. Galloway’s legacy is one of unparalleled achievement, leadership, and dedication, and her presence will be deeply missed.
