AAA-ICDR Foundation & #CampusBridge Student Video Contest Announcement and Application

The American Arbitration Association - International Centre for Dispute Resolution Foundation and #CampusBridge at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law’s Divided Community Project are excited to announce a unique Video Contest for college and university student teams across the United States.

Theme: Create an original, compelling short video that contributes positively to U.S. campus environments amidst reactions to Middle East violence. Your video should aim to:

  • Enhance Safety and Well-Being: Foster a secure, supportive campus atmosphere.
  • Counter Divisiveness: Challenge negative stereotypes and promote mutual understanding.
  • Promote Anti-Hate Norms: Encourage a culture of respect and inclusion within the campus community.


Awards: Up to 10 winning groups will receive:

  • National Recognition: Public acknowledgment and appreciation for positively impacting student life nationwide, along with personal satisfaction.
  • $10,000 Grant: Awarded to the winners’ colleges or universities for initiatives that align with the contest goals, such as educational programs or publication of materials.
  • Video Showcase: Winning videos will be featured on the #CampusBridge and AAA-ICDR Foundation websites and in other media.
     


Video Guidelines:

  • Content Ideas: Videos could, for example, showcase efforts to support other students even if they hold different views on Middle East violence, illustrate how campus atmosphere affects students, highlight support for targeted students, or demonstrate compassion and respect. 
  • Duration: Videos must be between 30 seconds and 3 minutes in length.
  • Size and Format: Videos must not exceed 5GB, and MOV or MP4 format preferred.
  • Privacy: Highlight your campus/group and ensure individuals featured understand and agree that winning videos will be published online. Please avoid using individual names in the videos. 


Submission Deadline: March 14, 2024

Complete the submission form, including team identification, affirmation of inclusivity, the group’s future project plans, consent for broad video sharing, originality confirmation, affirmation that the video does not contain AI-generated or materials or music that is copyrighted, student status certification, and contact details. Please include a suggestion for how the award should be used on your campus to further the goals of the contest.


Selection Criteria:
●    Contribution to the contest’s goals.
●    Video's engaging quality.
●    The group’s commitment to continuing efforts towards the goals.
●    Collaboration across differing views on Middle East violence.
●    Adherence to submission guidelines.


Selection Committee: A diverse panel of professionals in collaborative dispute resolution, communication specialists, and students with varied perspectives on Middle East violence will evaluate submissions.
